So I went to the barn by myself to say goodbye to Tulip-very prego nigerian dwarf-due in about 2 weeks- |
came out of the barn |
but then came a feisty little lad |
followed by another even bigger young man.....oh poor Tulip and us-we really were not expecting this.. |
so far this is the only picture of the three of them together-she's a good little first time mom-if not quite overwhelmed! |
the two little rascals were full of the dickens right off.... |
this is the biggest-and was trying to get all the precious first milk-colostrum-from Tulip-we had to make him share!! Will keep you updated! |

wow! triplets when you anticipating 1? i hope little destiny makes it. she'll need bottle-feeding anyway, i'd imagine, with 2 spunky brothers stealing all the milk.
Sounds like you did/are doing everything right and everything you can. I hope she pulls through with no long term problems. They are so beautifully marked! How wonderful.
What a wonderful way to end your day and visit with your family. The babies are so sweet and tiny. I am so glad that there was a neighbor ready and able to help tube the little doe. I hope she makes it and does well. Triplets are so hard on the mom. Are they rare in Nigerian Dwarfs? I don't know why the email isnt going through. Try this email: MEKelly07@hotmail.com
Hey, to me the internet doesn't really exist. Tell me, just where is it? Keep us updated with follow up on the doe. Our prayers are with her.
Simply and beautifully told and photographed. This is such a moving account of new life and I hope, so very much, that everyone's efforts will be rewarded and a cause for celebration in the days to come. The events and weather in Maine have presented some challenges, but I miss it all so much and am hoping to come home soon!
We are getting our first two doelings (also Nigerian Dwarf) May 7th or 8th. :D
