Perfect few days........

We started a few days ago visiting the Railroad Village =2 hr drive from us-he cried the whole ride there and half way back!  But we got to ride Thomas the Tank train  and it was fun and go on other rides and he loved that!!

The only thing he'll keep on his head in this do-rag--just like grumpy's!!  They both have the "Yul Brener" look!!
Perfect hay maze-so short the kids could see their parents and they could see each other!!!  I liked it!!

A great ride --pulled by a tractor-what could be better!!

A few days later we celebrated..........
Celebrated aunt Mol-hee's birthday!!  Alden got to wear her princess tiara!!   Daddy can't see this!!

Sometimes these adults are so silly-bubbles?!!

Pay no attention to the 84 yr old lady behind the bear bottle-she was drinking champagne anyway!!

When gigi babysits me I get to do more!  A 9 month old can be very entertained by ripping a paper towel to shreds!  Mommy won't let me................!

Been canning up a storm!!

Today 10 pints of corn relish-5  1/2 pts of blackberry jam-yesterday 12  1/2pts of banana split-in-a-jar!!-It's outrageous!  and doz. jars of strawberry margarita  jam!!

Got a big pot of mustard pickle cukes soaking overnite--tomorrow should be about 10 pts of mustard pickles!! mmmmm...

of course we are also doing the usual string beans,etc.......
My chickies are growing up-should be getting more eggs soon!!   Can you tell which end is up!  I just love these frizzles and silky!
Oh and this was the bear who raided my moms bird feeder when they were having breakfast the other morning!  And she lives IN TOWN!!  I thought she'd be very freaked out==but soon after the bear left she walked down to her mailbox-by herself!

So I'm still using the same Ball Blue Book that we started canning with-published 1972 and that's when we started.........

'Cept now I can chop with my Christmas "Emeril" knife!  and is it slick!!

Whew! I'm exhausted!

I can;t wait til my granddaughter is old enough to take on outings like this - it looks like so much fun.

That bear! Good grief!!!!!! Is it a frequent visitor?

LOVE the canning pics. I haven't canned pickles in two years and my family is craving them. Guess I'll make a run to Farmer's market next week and get started.

Have a great week at the farm!

What a great, happy post! Loved all the wonderful pictures. Our kids also always cried on car rides. Arden, at 3 1/2, is just beginning to outgrow being a total PITA in the car. LOL!

I just LOVED this blog post! I am always excited when you post, because you just might have more pictures of this little guy who I ADORE. And, now you have given me some wonderful ideas for canning and JUST in time! I am curious about the jam and will look for the recipe. You really have been busy!

Wowza! That bear is neat! Scary but neat. Is that a full grown one or just a cub? I think I'd be more scared if it was a cub! Cause you know momma bear is somewhere around!

Such an adorable little one. I am sure he is your treasure.

You bring back memories with all your canning. I have the same canning, Blue Book as you. My grandsons will eat pickles until they literally come out their ears. Especially the garlic dill recipe of their great nannny Nora.
DELICIOUS

I am in awe of you with all that canning you did! We have a daylight bear around here too, at least he is still skittish when he hears people around though, for now that is. Your little Alden is adorable as ever. ~Lili
