Many an afternoon years ago, my friend Claire and I sat in the doorway

of this wonderful old barn.......just  "barn sittin" as the old folks used to call it.  We'd talk of the future, our children's future, the days beauty, the sky and country noises............she's been gone a few years now....and I've come to realize how very precious those stolen moments were.......when we talked and laughed and worried together in our lawn chairs-in the doorway of her old barn on her very old farmstead.  One of the original homes on the rocky coast of the Penobscot River......back in its day this was a very prosperous logging, shipping and mill town...bustling with all the activity the river produced in the 1800's.........but we were just a couple of moms..........friends.......sitting and enjoying a few minutes of companionship.........
miss you Claire.......................

Peace,  Rain

Interesting how photos can bring back pleasant memories. I guess that's one very good reason for taking lots of photos. :)

What a lovely post to your friend's memory, that's the nice thing about memories, you can keep them tucked away in your heart.

I want to thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog this evening. You also caught a HUGE blooper in my recipe . . . I left out the sugar! Thanks to you it's been corrected!!!
