Must catch up........being retired is very hard work..... Can't keep up with all the fun things and chores to do!

To try to summarize in a few pictures........

The ice storm hit us hard......

Neighbors helped each other...... strangers helped
                        Strangers......

Brand new bridges were closed for days because of incredible ice built ups..... Causing cars to have to go many miles out of their way to work..... Over roads that were unsanded and not plowed....

But our Marine made a surprise visit home........and a few days later our sailor was home also......a wonderful gift for my brother -their dad........and for us all...

We were six days without power..... Fortunately we have a back up pellet stove and
Small generator- could run a light or the coffee pot !!  You guess which was most important !!

We had a little house on the pararie Christmas by candlelight and the
Hum of generators up and down our country road!

Love can't be dampened by the loss of electricity........

Power companies from as far away as New Jersey-NY-Penn-Conn came to help.........they left their families at Christmas.......

Birthdays were still celebrated...... my aunt.... 85....

My daughters birthday ..........

Water was restricted.......but fun was still had by many!!

.................. to be cont............

Fondly, Rain :)

Here I am bemoaning the bunches of snow and frigid temps and you have been forced to survive without electricity. And you made it through with celebrations, homecomings and a ton of joy!

Getting by with a little help from friends. Glad to see you carried on. That was a lot to sum up in one post. Glad I follow you on Facebook!
